The California Environmental Quality Act requires that a public agency consider, as part of the decision-making process, the potential significant environmental effects of "discretionary projects" that it undertakes, 基金, or authorizes and to avoid or mitigate those impacts, 如果可行的. A "discretionary project" is a project which requires the exercise of judgement or deliberation when the public agency or body decides to approve or disapprove a particular activity. CEQA also requires disclosure of potential significant environmental effects of discretionary projects to the public, through the preparation of an Initial Study, Negative Declaration, Mitigated Negative Declaration or Environmental Impact 报告.

Metropolitan has prepared a Draft Environmental Impact 报告 for the Garvey Reservoir Rehabilitation Project. In accordance with Section 15087 of the State CEQA Guidelines and Section 21091 and 21083 of the Public 资源 Code, there is a 45-day public review period. The response time for the Garvey Reservoir Rehabilitation Project is June 12, 2024 to July 29, 2024.
Metropolitan has prepared an Initial Study for the West Valley Feeder No. 1 Stage 3 Improvements Project with a proposed Mitigated Negative Declaration. In accordance with Section 15072 and 15073(a) of the State CEQA Guidelines, there is a 30 day public review period. The response time for the West Valley Feeder No. 1 Stage 3 Improvements Project is June 13, 2024 to July 15, 2024 to accommodate the Juneteenth and Independence Day holidays.
